In 2019, the Luckyday Program is taking a new approach to leadership and student programming. Instead of having students serve in year-long commitments on a leadership team, students can apply to serve on individual committees as they have interest and availability. Two teams that we have already filled for this new semester are our Spring Gala Committee and the Luckyday Advisory Board.

One team of students we are looking to find is for our Luckyday Preview Committee. Luckyday Preview Day will take place on Friday, April 12, from 1-4 pm in the Luckyday program space for those high school seniors–and their parents–who have been accepted into the Luckyday Program entering the fall of 2020. This committee will help plan communications with the students before the event, activities and presentations during the event, determine the agenda for separate student and parent sessions, and help decide the overall atmosphere for the event.

Students who wish to apply for the committee need to be in good standing with the Luckyday Program (academic status, good service record, and meeting attendance), commit to being an engaged member on the team, offer creative ideas and constructive criticism, and be all-in at the event. Applicants must be available for a planning meeting Friday, February 15, at 2 pm, in the Luckyday classroom. Other meetings will follow March 8, March 22, March 29, April 5, but the times can be determined by the committee.
