Can anyone say hills?

My name is Brielle Jordan. I am a nursing major with a theatre minor and I was born and raised in Ocean Springs, MS. I wanted to go on the LD Discovery Trip because I thought it would be a great opportunity to broaden my horizons. I took my first trip up north last summer and that was when the traveling bug bit me. I now have a list full of places to visit. I guess I can check a trip to the west coast with some great friends off of my list! I have never been out west, so traveling to California was quite the experience.

I have so many fun stories from this trip, but one of my favorite moments was when Paige and I went exploring San Francisco at night. We didn’t know what to do or where to go because most of the shops were already closed, so we just looked at the map and picked a spot to walk to. We ended up trekking up Hyde Street to get to Lombard Street where we could get an amazing view of the city and also walk down the infamous winding road. However, we didn’t take into account that we had to hike about a mile up one of the steepest hills I have ever seen in a city. It took a lot of encouragement, but we managed to make it to the top and the view was definitely worth it.

We enjoyed the serenity of the moment and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to go on our little adventure. This also prepared us for the even more difficult hike up Vernal Falls in Yosemite National Park which we experienced the following day!

I enjoyed every moment of our trip to San Francisco and I loved getting to know my peers better. I look forward to future trips with my Luckyday family.
