Jasmine Spears is a freshman majoring in nursing. Fun fact: Yesterday was the first time she has ridden on a plane! Before this trip, the most western state she has visited is Louisiana, and she has never been out of the southeast. In thinking about this trip, she was interested in seeing a new part of the country. Some of her friends were going to Gulf Shores, but she wanted to take this great opportunity to see California.
Jasmine is excited about going to Alcatraz for the night tour. She’s also looking forward to going to Yosemite National Forest tomorrow. She likes serene surroundings and peaceful places, so being able to experience that national treasure is amazing. Jasmine wishes she could experience this place with her family. Sometimes trying new things means we have to step out and take a risk.
When we were visiting the Golden Gate Bridge, Jasmine was taking in the beauty of the San Francisco Bay. An energetic lady came up to her and said, “You are the one. You are the one I am looking for.” Jasmine was highly confused. “I don’t think I’m the one you are looking for.” The lady responds, “You have on a pink hat and pink shoes!” Jasmine eventually convinced her that she was not “the one.” Apparently “Jasmine” was supposed to meet a buddy to run but didn’t know it!
